Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a full-time onsite Lead Instructor for BASE programs. You will guide elementary-age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands-on learning, fostering teamwork and social-emotional growth while supporting school-day recess programs.

Role requires 2+ years with children, CPR/First Aid certification, and dedication to safe, inclusive programming. Schedule is Monday–Friday with early mornings and after-school hours, at multiple elementary sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, and nannying.
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
• Strong teamwork and communication with staff and parents/guardians.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements culturally relevant activities within the provided YMCA curriculum.
• Supervises groups of children to ensure safety and positive experiences.
• May guide staff/volunteers overseeing groups of children.
• Communicates day-to-day information with parents/guardians.
• Follows YMCA policies including safety and emergency procedures.
• Maintains site appearance and cleanliness; may prepare snacks.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; other duties as assigned.
