Job summary

Goddess-and-the-Bake in Wilmette, IL seeks an experienced barista supervisor to oversee front-of-house operations, ensure consistent product standards across coffee, bakery and bar offerings, and train new baristas to reflect the brand with every interaction.

You will manage weekly beverage orders, monitor inventory, maintain equipment, enforce health and safety requirements, and cultivate a professional, friendly team atmosphere while coaching latte art and customer service skills for long-term

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in specialty coffee and the coffee industry.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Flexible schedule.
• Able to teach latte art.
• Able to keep a calm, mature, professional demeanor when needed.
• Well-organized and detail-oriented, and demonstrates a desire to learn.
• Be a model barista in bar skills, customer service and enthusiasm with the ability to lead, communicate and train team members.
• Must be able to adapt to new procedures with ease, and confidently inform staff of changes.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Must have worked with manual espresso machines.
• This position is paid hourly and includes tips.

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with our guests by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items.
• Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards across bar, food and bakery offerings.
• Cultivates a professional, friendly and efficient work environment.
• Keeps FOH staff informed of drink specials and bar-related changes; trains new barista hires.
• Manages weekly beverage orders with vendors; tracks sales and inventory pars.
• Keeps equipment operating by following procedures, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance.
• Maintains store image, health and safety requirements, and ongoing staff education.
• Proactively lead, coach and develop team members; attends coffee events when possible.
