Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Development Flight Instrumentation lead to own the subsystem lifecycle for lunar missions. You will architect DFI solutions, integrate sensors, and coordinate calibration and integration with cross‑functional teams to meet data collection and reliability goals.

Responsibilities include defining mechanical/electrical interfaces, leading verification and validation, and ensuring compliance with flight safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a technical field; relevant aerospace experience preferred.
• 5+ years in avionics/instrumentation and electro‑optical/imaging systems engineering.
• Experience owning a subsystem across requirements, design, integration, verification and validation.
• Familiarity with aerospace design requirements: thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, acoustics.

Responsibilities

• Lead development flight instrumentation lifecycle from concept to validation.
• Design DFI hardware solutions with custom and COTS avionics.
• Coordinate sensor installation, calibration, and integration activities.
• Develop ground support equipment and test electronics for campaigns.
• Ensure DFI designs meet safety, reliability, and mission requirements.
