Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a qualified engineer to own Development Flight Instrumentation for the MK-1 lunar lander. You will design, integrate, and test DFI systems, including sensors, flight computing, and data acquisition, enabling safe and reusable spaceflight.

The role requires 5+ years in avionics/instrumentation and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet mission timelines and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electrical/Aerospace/Optical, etc.).
• 5+ years in avionics/instrumentation and imaging systems engineering.
• Experience owning a subsystem across full lifecycle (requirements to validation).
• Experience with data interfaces and network equipment (LVDS, SpaceWire, GigE Vision, Camera Link, CSI-2, Ethernet).
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Development Flight Instrumentation (DFI) lifecycle from concept to validation for lunar missions.
• Architect DFI solutions using mixed custom and COTS avionics hardware.
• Design, integrate, and test flight hardware and harnessing.
