Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Sr. Avionics Systems Engineer to define what is possible for next‑gen flight avionics in Kent, WA. You will own hardware end‑to‑end as a Responsible Engineer and collaborate with the Chief Architect to mature technologies into baselines for design teams.

You will lead system‑level analyses, build rapid prototypes, translate results into clear requirements, and support integration, test, and issue resolution across avionics domains.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of avionics experience across full product life cycle.
• Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and programmable logic devices.
• Ability to own hardware end-to-end as a Responsible Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture direction, technology strategy, and cross-subsystem problem solving.
• Evaluate and mature new technologies to baselined, production-ready state.
• Define clear requirements and interfaces for engineers and design teams.
• Support integration, test, and anomaly resolution at vehicle level.
• Mentor engineers and ensure producibility across disciplines.
