Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a talented Avionics Systems Engineer to support the New Glenn program. You will contribute to architecture trade studies, manage requirements flow-down, and develop verification plans for avionics across a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, safety-critical design, and mentorship within the Avionics team, with opportunities to lead integration efforts and design reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Aerospace or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in full life cycle development of avionics systems including requirements, design, integration, test and operations.
  • Strong systems engineering practices and mission/safety critical systems knowledge.
  • Experience delivering complex, safety-critical avionics with multiple subsystems and IO interfaces.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and deliver results-oriented solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to avionics architecture trade studies and verification planning.
  • Flow down requirements to lower-level specifications and interfaces.
  • Develop verification/validation plans with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage power/network architecture across avionics subsystems.
  • Perform fault tree analyses and other safety analyses across the lifecycle.
  • Produce technical documentation including interfaces and specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews (PDR/CDR) and ensure artifact quality.
  • Provide mentorship and define processes within the team.
