Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to support the NewGlenn program in Washington. You will engage in architecture trade studies, requirements management, and verification planning to ensure avionics subsystems meet mission goals across complex vehicle integration.

The role emphasizes a strong systems mindset, safety-critical focus, and collaboration across teams while advancing cutting-edge reusable launch vehicle technology.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical, Computer Science, Aerospace, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years in full life cycle avionics development including requirements, design, integration, test and operations.
  • Strong systems engineering practices, integration processes, and safety-critical systems understanding.
  • Experience delivering complex, highly integrated avionics with multiple subsystems and IO interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to NewGlenn Avionics architecture trade studies and concept development.
  • Analyze requirements at the Avionics subsystem level and flow down to components.
  • Generate verification/validation plans and coordinate with test teams.
  • Develop/manage power/network architecture across Avionics subsystems with deterministic performance.
  • Create and maintain fault tree analyses and other reliability/safety analyses across the system lifecycle.
  • Produce procedural definitions, specifications, interfaces, and analysis documents.
  • Contribute to design reviews (PDR/CDR) and ensure artifacts meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Provide technical mentorship within the Avionics engineering team.
