Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to lead architecture studies and requirements flow-down for the New Glenn program. You will collaborate across teams to develop verification plans and ensure subsystem reliability, safety, and performance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in avionics, strong systems engineering background, and hands-on experience with DO-178 or similar safety standards, Python for automation, and Linux environments.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, CS, Aerospace, or related field.
• 5+ years in the full life cycle development of avionics systems.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering practices, integration and safety-critical systems.
• Understanding of requirements definition, decomposition and flow-down, circuit design and hardware specs.
• Experience delivering complex safety-critical avionics systems with multiple subsystems.
• Strong ability to analyze complex systems and deliver results.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Avionics architecture trade studies and concept development.
• Manage requirements at the Avionics subsystem level and flow-down to components.
• Create verification and validation plans with test teams.
• Develop and manage power/network architecture for multiple subsystems.
• Perform fault tree analyses and safety analyses across the system lifecycle.
• Produce technical writings: specs, interfaces, analyses, and procedures.
• Contribute to design reviews and ensure quality and compliance of artifacts.
• Mentor teammates and help define processes within the Avionics group.
