Job summary

Solutionz, Inc. seeks a Technician II to install, integrate, test, and commission commercial AV systems across the Greater Washington, DC area.

The role leads installation activities, mentors junior technicians, and collaborates with Project Managers and Field Engineers to ensure quality and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of AV installation experience, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years installing and integrating commercial audiovisual systems.
• Leadership of installation activities and mentoring technicians.
• Knowledge of AV system signal flow, installation practices, and integration methodologies.
• Experience with rack fabrication, cable termination, equipment installation, and system commissioning.
• Ability to read AV drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction docs.
• Familiarity with AV control systems, DSP platforms, and networked AV tech.
• Experience with system testing, troubleshooting, and QA activities.
• Strong low-voltage installation knowledge and codes.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Attend installation turnover meetings to review scope and requirements.
• Verify project drawings and site docs prior to mobilization.
• Assemble, wire, configure, and test equipment racks per docs.
• Configure, test, and prepare equipment before site deployment.
• Ensure materials and tools are available before project execution.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, ladders, and safety equipment.
• Coordinate inventory, staging, transport to customer sites.
• Verify site readiness and installation requirements before work.
• Install AV systems per standards and codes.
• Test, troubleshoot, and QA throughout installation.
• Mentor Technician I and support project execution.
• Document installation records and reports.
