Job summary

Pep Boys in Long Beach is seeking a Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a team, and deliver superior customer service. You will educate customers on problems and proposed solutions while mentoring junior staff and maintaining shop standards.

The role requires strong automotive repair experience, ASE certifications, and a valid driver's license, with availability for varied shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5 plus two from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license; pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers or employees as needed.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians; maintain organized shop.
• Keep management aware of mechanical repair problems; adhere to safety rules.
