Pep Boys Inc in Lafayette, LA is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, explain findings to customers, and mentor a shop team. You will work to deliver superior service and educate customers on proposed solutions for their vehicles.

The role requires 3+ years of automotive experience, ASE certifications preferred, and flexibility to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends. A strong emphasis on safety and shop organization is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive diagnosis and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5 plus 2 from: A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required
• State Inspection license if applicable
• Valid driver's license
• Pre-employment background check
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and others as required.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Continually learn new technical information and techniques to stay current.
• Keep management informed of repair issues as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop and follow company policies and safety rules.
