Job summary

Auto Plus in Lafayette, LA seeks an experienced Automotive Technician who can diagnose drivability and electrical systems and educate customers on repairs. You will lead by example, mentoring a shop team to deliver superior service.

Requirements include 3+ years of diagnostic and repair experience, high school diploma or GED, and ASE certifications preferred. A valid driver's license and ability to work varied shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4/A5 plus two from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High motivation, energy and customer-focused attitude.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Ability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician levels as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and colleagues clearly.
• Continuously learn new automotive tech information through formal training.
• Assist other technicians and keep management informed of problems.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop and follow safety rules.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
