Job summary

Pep Boys Careers is seeking an automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical issues and to mentor a team for improved customer care. You will interact with customers, educate them on problems and proposed solutions, and drive service quality in a fast-paced shop.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of diagnostic/repair experience, ASE certifications preferred, and a valid driver's license. Availability for varied shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic, problem solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 certification is required; state inspection license if applicable.
• Must have valid driver's license and be willing to work days, nights, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers in a clear, non-technical manner.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians; maintain shop organization and safety.
• Stay updated on automotive technology through formal training.
• Notify management of recurring repair problems as they occur.
