Job summary

Ziply Fiber is hiring an Applications Engineer II to lead administration and development of critical applications in our Technology (IT) landscape. You will work closely with OSP engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable platforms and end-to-end integration solutions.

The role requires deep knowledge of OSP networks, strong automation skills in Python and NodeJs, and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five+ years of engineering and application experience with development and system administration teams.
• Three+ years of experience with distributed server systems and in telecommunications environments.
• Five+ years of networking with focus on outside plant (OSP).
• Experience with service provider products and offerings for commercial use.
• Ability to automate repetitive engineering tasks.
• Proficiency in Python and NodeJs.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and containerization.
• Strong communication between technical SMEs and non-technical staff.
• On-call availability in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration and SME on core applications.
• Document and inventory integrated applications and external system calls.
• Write operating and administration guides for applications.
• Develop and deliver end-to-end integration solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement tools from use cases.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive process improvements.
• Ensure applications are functional, usable and reliable.
