Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for Thoracic Surgery to provide clinical and administrative leadership across a team of about 11 APPs. You will support staffing, scheduling, APP development, quality initiatives, and operations in a fast-paced surgical service line.

The role balances clinical practice with leadership duties, supporting inpatient, outpatient, and affiliated sites while fostering collaboration with physicians and operational leaders.

Qualifications

• Education and credentials must align with the clinical practice area.
• Minimum three years in an advanced practice provider role with increasing responsibility.
• Licensed as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse or Certified Physician Assistant as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees APP coverage for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Conducts annual performance evaluations with leadership.
• Leads team meetings to identify barriers and drive improvements.
• Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and clinical research protocols.
• Provides diagnostic and therapeutic management within scope and privileges.
