Job summary

Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, New York, is seeking a Lead Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) to provide clinical and operational leadership for our Cardiothoracic Surgery program.

The Lead APP will supervise the CT surgery APP team, participate in daily rounds, assist in first cases, and drive quality improvement, workflow optimization, and staff development with surgeons, nurses, and hospital leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current New York State PA license.
• National certification - NCCPA.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cardiothoracic Surgery APP team and supervise APPs.
• Attend daily rounds in ICU and inpatient units; participate in perioperative care.
• Participate in scheduling, staffing, and workflow management.
• Drive quality improvement, best practices, and regulatory compliance.
