Job summary

Karsun Solutions, LLC seeks a Lead Automation Test Engineer who will lead AI-enabled testing initiatives, modernize the Selenium suite to Playwright, and drive fast, high-quality delivery for government-focused QA programs. You will coach a team of senior automation engineers, define reusable AI templates, and ensure alignment with customer commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of related experience, including at least 5 years hands-on test automation.
• Experience leading automation teams and delivering customer commitments on time.
• Hands-on experience with AI-enabled testing tools (e.g., Testim, mabl, Functionize, Applitools, Copilot, ChatGPT).
• Experience creating prompt libraries, AI usage standards, or repeatable AI-assisted workflows for software testing teams.
• Experience using AI tools for test generation, automation development, maintenance, failure analysis, regression analysis, coverage gap analysis.
• Experience evaluating AI/testing tools and practical adoption strategies.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver/Grid, Playwright, Cucumber/Gherkin, JUnit, TestNG.
• Experience with API/testing tools Postman and REST Assured.
• Strong programming in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum; SAFe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive a team of senior automation engineers; assign, track, and follow up on tasks.
• Own delivery of customer commitments and communicate deviations.
• Lead AI enablement for QA/testing by evaluating and implementing AI tools.
• Establish reusable AI-assisted templates and workflows for test generation and migration projects.
• Modernize Selenium automation; migrate to Playwright with AI-assisted tooling.
• Provide hands-on automation leadership for functional, integration, API, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Analyze regression suite to reduce flaky tests and long execution cycles.
• Use AI to analyze requirements and identify automation coverage gaps.
• Explain and defend AI tool choices, migration strategy, and framework design to customers.
• Produce prototypes and working automation to demonstrate value.
• Coach QA engineers on AI tools, Playwright, and testing standards.
• Collaborate in SAFe Agile environment with stakeholders.
• Create documentation for automation standards and tool evaluations.
