Job summary

Karsun Solutions, LLC is seeking a Lead Automation Test Engineer who will lead a team of senior automation engineers, drive AI-enabled test adoption, and modernize test frameworks for government‑facing projects.

The candidate will own delivery of customer commitments, evaluate new AI tools, and coach the QA team in best practices, ensuring high‑quality, scalable automation across functional, API, and regression testing. This role requires strong leadership and clear communication with customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8–10 years in related field with 5+ years hands-on automation.
• Led automation teams to deliver customer commitments on time.
• Hands-on with AI-enabled testing tools (Testim, mabl, Functionize, Applitools, Copilot).
• Created prompt libraries and AI-assisted workflows for testing.
• Experience with Selenium/Playwright, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG.
• API testing with Postman and REST Assured.
• Strong programming in Java/JS/TS/Python.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence and CI/CD tooling.
• SAFe Agile experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of senior automation engineers and track tasks for timely delivery.
• Own delivery of customer commitments and communicate deviations.
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI tools to boost productivity.
• Develop reusable prompt templates and AI-assisted workflows.
• Modernize Selenium suites with Playwright migrations and frameworks.
• Provide hands-on leadership across functional, integration, API, regression tests.
• Analyze regression suites to reduce flaky tests and long cycles.
• Identify automation coverage gaps from requirements and guide remediation.
• Explain and defend AI tool choices to customers and stakeholders.
• Prototype migrations and working automation to demonstrate value.
• Mentor QA engineers on AI tools, prompts, and standards.
