Job summary

Justworks seeks a strategic Leader, Organizational Design & Talent Management, to shape how the organization evolves with AI-enabled work, evolving operating models, and talent practices. Based in New York City, you’ll partner with TOD and leadership to drive scalable organizational design, performance systems, and career growth.

The role focuses on transforming career growth, succession planning, and data-driven talent decisions while aligning with DEIB principles and company values.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in organizational development, organizational design, talent management, workforce planning, performance management, or related disciplines.
• Experience operating in high-growth, technology, or rapidly evolving business environments.
• Demonstrated expertise leading talent review, succession planning, talent segmentation, and performance management processes.
• Experience designing organizational structures, operating models, or workforce planning solutions.
• Strong understanding of how AI, automation, and emerging technologies are reshaping workforce design and talent practices.
• Experience building and implementing scalable talent and performance management systems.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational change.
• Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging workforce and talent data to drive decisions.
• Exceptional facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.
• Strong intellectual curiosity, growth mindset, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Commitment to fostering inclusive talent systems and integrating DEIB principles throughout organizational and talent practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead future-state orgs that integrate AI-enabled workflows and human-AI collaboration.
• Align business strategy, operating models, talent, and capabilities with leaders and partners.
• Shape work flow across the org: operating models, workflow design, decision rights, teams, AI interplay.
• Translate business strategy into future workforce capability and talent requirements.
• Run enterprise Organizational & Talent Reviews in partnership with the TOD Director.
• Drive talent segmentation, critical role identification, and succession planning.
• Assess organizational health and future capability needs with leaders.
• Build actionable development and succession plans for key talent populations.
• Evolve the Career Journey framework from role-based to skills-based architecture.
• Collaborate with Total Rewards to align JCJ framework and job architecture.
• Partner across People, Technology, and business to identify future skills for AI workplace.
• Design frameworks that increase career growth transparency and internal mobility.
• Evolve performance management to AI-enabled, growth-oriented culture.
• Lead company-wide goal setting, reviews, calibration, and talent assessments.
• Explore AI to improve quality of feedback while keeping human judgment central.
• Build manager capability in feedback, coaching, and talent evaluation.
• Foster accountability, growth, and high performance.
• Leverage talent analytics to inform decisions and monitor talent health.
• Partner with People Analytics to identify trends and provide recommendations.
• Measure impact of talent and performance systems and improve outcomes.
• Serve as strategic Organizational Effectiveness consultant to leaders.
