Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT, is seeking a Manager in the Advanced Materials Group to lead a team of engineers and technicians in developing high-temperature exhaust system materials for jet engine applications.

The role emphasizes personnel development, collaboration with the Materials lab, and delivering programs from concept through production, while ensuring security compliance and alignment with business goals. This is an onsite role requiring US citizenship and active clearance.

Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field with 8+ years experience, or an MS/PhD with 5+ years.
• Experience leading a team of engineers and technicians in materials development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop engineers and technicians; assist in daily activities.
• Maintain lab equipment with the Advanced Materials & Composites lab facilitator.
• Ensure staffing and resources for development from concept to production.
• Interface with internal/external customers to define materials needs.
• Set technical direction, budget, and schedule; coordinate with Special Technologies Program Office.
• Support strategy spanning development to production transition.
• Collaborate with leadership to secure program funding for material programs.
• Meet security requirements for a Special Access Facility and safety norms.
• Propose capital improvements and drive QMS and standard work improvements.
