Job summary

University of Virginia School of Law seeks an Assistant Director of Student Affairs to join the Office of Student Affairs. The Assistant Director will support hallmark programs and manage communications for students and student organizations.

The role requires collaboration, leadership development, and some weekend/evening work with domestic travel. This full-time position is based in Charlottesville, VA, with in-person work and limited remote work per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience advising or supporting student organizations or leadership programs.
• Experience providing academic or career counseling to undergraduate students.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel proficiency emphasized.
• Team player with ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of professional pipeline programs.

Responsibilities

• Support hallmark programs: Roadmap Scholars Initiative, Community Fellows Program, orientation, graduation, and events.
• Manage and create social media posts and the weekly newsletter.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for student organizations; assist with budgets, funding, and reimbursements.
• Some weekend/evening work and domestic travel.
