Job summary

Duke Law School is seeking an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs to provide strategic leadership for programs and services that enhance student success, development, and engagement. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs, the role oversees student engagement, orientation, accessibility accommodations, and student conduct.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years' experience in a university setting.
• Broad knowledge of higher education and graduate education issues.
• JD degree plus 5 years' experience in law school administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and assessment of student affairs programs and services.
• Direct major Law School programs and events including orientation, commencement, and leadership retreats.
• Advise student organizations and provide governance, budgeting, and leadership development guidance.
• Oversee training for student organization leaders on financial management and compliance with university and law school policies.
• Coordinate collaboration with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and university partners to support student success.
