Job summary
ICW Group, headquartered in San Diego, seeks a part-time legal research assistant to support the Workers' Compensation legal department. You will conduct legal research, draft memos and briefs, and assist attorneys with motions and deposition preparation.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree and current attendance at an accredited law school with passing grades; insurance or legal experience is preferred. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and litigation systems is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; currently attending law school with 2 semesters/3 quarters completed.
- Legal or insurance experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs analysis and research functions for Workers’ Compensation cases.
- Drafts legal memos and briefs.
- Prepares motions and petitions as well as opposition/response to same.
- Analyzes and researches legal and factual issues.
- Assists in deposition and trial preparation and supports legal team throughout the entire litigation process.
- Communicates with clients, court staff, and law firms by telephone and written correspondence.
