Job summary

Vermont Law and Graduate School is seeking an Associate Director of the Academic Success Program (ASP) to lead student support, teach core ASP and doctrinal courses, and collaborate with faculty and staff. The role reports to the ASP Director and requires JD with a license to practice law and 2+ years in legal practice or higher education.

The position is full-time, exempt, on-campus and benefits-eligible, with occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required with license to practice law.
• Two or more years of relevant experience in legal practice or higher education experience.
• Knowledge of learning theories and legal theories.
• Understanding of ADA and FERPA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling and tutoring for students about study habits and bar readiness.
• Advise students on courses and plan for their law school experience.
• Plan, design, and run ASP programs for all VLGS students.
• Develop print and online resources for ASP services.
• Increase ASP awareness across campus and support faculty, staff, and students.
• Coordinate Student Mentors and assist in mentor training.
• Teach ASP courses and other courses as assigned.
• Serve on institutional committees and assist the Director with admin duties.
• Track and report student data for internal and external reporting.
• Coordinate with bar preparation provider and track bar admissions developments.
• Attend school events and participate in functions.
