Job summary

Vermont Law and Graduate School invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/Professor of Law to lead the Academic Success Program (ASP). The Associate Director will teach core ASP courses, advise students, and develop academic support resources.

This on-campus role reports to the ASP Director and involves occasional evening/weekend duties. Responsibilities include workshops, data reporting, committee work, and collaboration with faculty and staff.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required with license to practice law.
• Two or more years of relevant experience in legal practice or higher education.
• Knowledge of learning theories and legal theories.
• Knowledge of ADA and FERPA regulations.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling and tutoring for study habits, exam prep, and bar-related issues.
• Advise students on courses to maximize law school experience, especially during registration season.
• Design and implement academic support programs for all VLGS students.
• Develop print and online resources for VLGS students.
• Increase ASP visibility and coordinate with faculty, staff, and students.
• Teach ASP courses and other courses as assigned by the Vice Dean for Faculty.
• Serve on institutional committees and assist the Director with administrative duties.
• Track and report student data for internal and external reporting.
• Coordinate with bar prep providers and national bar admissions developments.
