Job summary

Fifth Third seeks a Retail Personal Banker I in Shelby, NC, to participate in a 4–8 week onboarding with rotations in operations and Sales & Service, culminating in a certification for the Personal Banker family.

The role uses consultative selling to identify customers’ financial needs, expand relationships, and contribute to branch goals. It requires processing teller transactions and collaborating with partners across Mortgage, Small Business, and Investments as needed.

Qualifications

• College degree or work experience providing transferrable skills.
• Experience in the financial industry preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with sales activities designed to acquire new consumer households and/or cross-sell to established customers.
• Ability to analyze credit and financial information.
• S.A.F.E. Act registration through NMLS is required at time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Use the consultative sales process to identify customer financial needs.
• Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions.
• Cross-sell to existing customers and engage in outside sales activities.
• Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
• Process teller transactions and support opening/closing of Financial Centers or Bank Marts.
