Job summary

OCLI Vision in Norwalk, CT is seeking Refractive Coordinators to guide patients from consult to Lasik surgery. You will schedule procedures, educate patients, collect demographics and insurance data, and support the ophthalmology team throughout the patient journey.

You will perform preoperative testing, assist with EMR documentation, coordinate history clearance with NP/PCP, and handle payments. Strong communication and flexible teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Provides white-glove service and responds quickly to patient needs.
• Reliable problem solver; stays calm under pressure.
• Positive, can-do attitude; works well in teams.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
• Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus (anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics, cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics, NSAIDs).
• Physical requirements: stand/walk, use hands, sit; lift up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries and manage changes based on priorities and emergencies.
• Coordinate patient medical history/clearance with NP and/or PCP; maintain demographics, PHI, and insurance info.
• Prepare surgery schedule for review by NP/Clinical Director.
• Educate patients on procedures; preoperative prep.
• Handle payment collection.
• Take IOL measurements and calculate lens requirements.
• Perform EMR documentation accurately; identify surgery site and special needs.
• Serve as work-up technician and conduct ophthalmic tests as scheduled.
