Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and manages changes; prioritizes emergencies and patient needs.
• Coordinates patient medical history/clearance with NP/PCP; maintains demographics, health information and insurance information.
• Prepares surgery schedule for review by NP and/or Clinical Nurse Director.
• Adheres to scheduling guidelines.
• Educates patients on procedures and preoperative preparation.
• Payment collection.
• IOL measurements and calculations based on physician lens requirements.
• Performs EMR documentation accurately; identifies proper surgery site, procedure and surgeon needs.
• Works as a work-up technician and performs ophthalmic procedures and testing as schedule requires.
