Job summary

nLIGHT is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to sustain high-volume production of laser-related components in a clean room environment. You will troubleshoot equipment, collect data, and collaborate with process engineering to drive improvements that reduce downtime and improve safety and ergonomics.

Responsibilities include monitoring automated tools, performing maintenance, and training production team members to maintain quality and throughput goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of MSIII experience or 1+ year in high-volume production with electronics/semiconductor equipment.
• Proficiency with hand tools and basic measuring instruments.
• Ability to read sketches, blueprints, and schematics and follow detailed instructions.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards, and clean room protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor automated production tools to ensure quality, throughput, and utilization.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues; collect data and communicate status and solutions.
• Define and perform routine maintenance and calibrations on equipment.
• Collaborate with process engineering on specific processes and drive continuous improvements to reduce downtime and tool interruptions.
• Train, certify, and support production team members.
• Assist in documenting processes for prototype and high-volume lines.
• Lead by example in eliminating equipment issues from production’s critical path.
• Apply analytical methods (SPC, DOE, Gage R&R) and lean Six Sigma concepts for CI initiatives.
• Perform manufacturing builds and other tasks to meet production goals.
