Job summary

Michigan State University Extension in Michigan's Lapeer County seeks a Program Coordinator for 4-H Youth Development. You will lead local 4-H programs, recruit/train volunteers, and expand partnerships with schools and community groups to reach youth in Lapeer County.

You will collaborate with CYI and other MSUE units to align programs with Institute goals, and manage financial resources for 4-H activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in program development and management in 4-H or other youth development program.
• Volunteer management experience supervising volunteers or others.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Zoom, Qualtrics, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Train 4-H volunteers to reach and involve diverse youth and families.
• Build partnerships with schools and community groups to reach youth through multiple delivery methods.
• Attend Leaders’ Council meetings and coordinate county-wide projects with volunteers.
• Provide leadership to local volunteer management and grow the volunteer network.
