Job summary

Penn State Extension seeks an Extension Educator to implement the Lycoming County 4-H program and support statewide efforts. The role focuses on hands-on activities that foster critical thinking, leadership, and community engagement through clubs, camps, and after-school programs.

The educator will recruit and supervise volunteers, build partnerships, and develop a revenue portfolio while guiding professional development for the local program.

Qualifications

• Teaching, program development, and evaluation skills are required.
• Positive human relations and effective communication with youth, parents, leaders, and the public are essential.

Responsibilities

• Implement educational programs, materials, and activities as part of the Pennsylvania 4-H program and local county needs.
• Recruit, screen, train, and support adult volunteers.
• Promote the 4-H program to retain current members and recruit new and diverse youth audiences.
• Coordinate registration, supervision, and transportation for participants in 4-H youth events held in other counties, across the state, or out of state.
• Develop partnerships and collaborations with other youth-serving groups, schools, or organizations.
• Provide administrative oversight to 4-H volunteers, youth, and clubs to ensure policy and procedures are followed.
