Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a leader to oversee the Language Services team in the central Charlotte area. The role drives system-wide translation and interpretation initiatives, ensuring compliant, high‑quality patient communications across the network.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staff development, safety and risk considerations, and collaborating with clinicians to support LEP and deaf/hard-of-hearing patients. Requires leadership and extensive interpretation experience.

Qualifications

• Bilingual medical terminology knowledge, including anatomy and physiology.
• Familiarity with ethics of medical interpreting per NCIHC guidelines.
• Ability to oversee interpreters and handle difficult conversations in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages system-wide translation and interpretation services.
• Oversees quality monitoring and improvement of language services.
• Develops budgets and monitors expenditures for language programs.
• Builds relationships with management, staff and medical teams to serve LEP and deaf/hard-of-hearing patients.
