Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Language Access Interpreter Services leader to oversee translation and interpretation across the health system. You will guide staff, ensure compliance, and improve access for LEP and deaf/hard of hearing patients.

Requires typically 5 years in medical interpretation, including 1 year of supervisory experience, and a Bachelor's in Health Care Administration or Nursing. Remote role with state eligibility considerations.

Qualifications

• Possesses professional command of bilingual medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology.
• Ethics of medical interpreting as outlined by the NCIHC.
• Ability to oversee interpreters in difficult messages, including death and dying.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for system-wide translation and interpretation services.
• Ensures services meet state/federal regulations and compliance requirements.
• Develops budgets and monitors variances; supervises staff and performance reviews.
