Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Area seeks a leader for Language Access and Interpreting Services. This Full-time role oversees staffing and quality of interpreter services to support patient care in a hospital network.

You will supervise interpreters, coordinate services, and ensure compliance with applicable laws. The position requires 5 years of medical interpreting experience and CM I certification within one year, with responsibilities across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Requires professional command of bilingual medical terminology including anatomy and physiology.
• Knowledge of ethics in medical interpreting per NCIHC guidelines.
• Ability to manage interpreters in challenging situations and lead staff on complex cases.

Responsibilities

• Maintains staffing of Medical Interpreter caregivers and sets productivity/quality standards.
• Monitors utilization and provides work direction to staff and agency interpreters.
• Provides expertise in complex cases involving end-of-life issues, family dynamics, and policy implementation.
