Job summary

Interstate Waste Services seeks a Landfill Maintenance Supervisor to oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for the landfill's mobile equipment and fleet. You will lead mechanics and support staff, assign tasks, and enforce safety to keep critical equipment available for operations.

Required: 3–5 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience and at least 2 years in a leadership role; CDL preferred or obtainable if needed; CMMS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school or an associate degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience, preferably in landfill or similar operations.
• Minimum two years of experience leading technicians or coordinating maintenance work.
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and powertrain systems.
• Experience using CMMS and diagnostic tools; CDL preferred or obtainable if required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach and develop maintenance personnel across a range of heavy equipment.
• Review priorities and assign daily work based on needs, safety and production impact.
• Coordinate work-order flow, shift coverage and shop productivity.
• Ensure repairs are safe, correct and documented before return to service.
• Provide technical direction for diagnostics and coordinate field repairs.
