Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. is seeking a Landfill Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the landfill's mobile equipment fleet, support vehicles, and maintenance shop. You will lead technicians, assign work, monitor repairs, and ensure safety practices to maximize equipment availability for operations.

The role requires experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and powertrain systems, and strong leadership and organizational skills. CDL or license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school or associate degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience, preferably in landfill, waste, construction, quarry, mining, recycling.
• Two+ years leading technicians or coordinating maintenance work.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repair planning.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance personnel including mechanics, welders, technicians and parts staff.
• Review priorities with Maintenance Manager and assign daily work.
• Coordinate work-order flow, labor, shift coverage and shop productivity.
• Reinforce safety, accountability and urgency in maintenance operations.
• Oversee repair of landfill and support equipment and ensure safe, on-time completion.
