Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station for loading, spreading, covering and compacting waste or soil. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor equipment, complete reports, follow safety policies, and keep the shop clean while supporting a safe, efficient operation.

Two years of related heavy equipment experience and OSHA site exposure are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Experience at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader with safety standards.
• Monitor waste and equipment conditions to minimize downtime.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and keep the shop clean after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
