Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil while maintaining high safety standards.

The role requires operator experience on equipment such as forklifts and bulldozers, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience operating heavy equipment at industrial sites.
• Experience working at sites regulated by OSHA or equivalent safety standards.
• Strong commitment to safety and following company policies.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and ability to work in a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe and clean.
• Operate forklifts, excavators and other equipment following safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and keep the site orderly.
• Perform minor routine service and report major issues for maintenance.
• Complete reports and adhere to safety and cleanliness protocols.
