Job summary

Republic Services is hiring an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform inspections, monitor for unacceptable waste, and perform minor maintenance while keeping the site safe and organized.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, reliable shift performance, and teamwork in a dynamic operations environment across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment per Company policy.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor service on equipment and document inspections.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe shop area at shift end.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
