Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor waste quality, and complete routine servicing while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key duties include documenting equipment conditions, reporting needed repairs, and complying with all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document minor servicing; refer complex issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and keep shop clean and organized after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
