Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a dedicated Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations. You will transfer, spread, cover, load, and compact waste while maintaining strict safety practices and efficient operation.

Responsibilities include pre/post inspections, monitoring for waste quality, minor equipment service, and accurate reporting. The role requires adherence to safety policies and effective time management to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Two years of related heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of experience at OSHA-regulated sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader following safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor on-site service and document reports; refer complex issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Keep shop clean and organized after each shift and report needed repairs to supervisor.
