Columbus Consolidated Government is seeking a qualified leader to direct the Waste Disposal Division, overseeing daily landfill operations, staffing, safety, and regulatory compliance. The role includes budgeting, contract oversight, and ensuring timely payroll and reporting.

The ideal candidate will manage projects, enforce environmental standards, and promote waste reduction initiatives while updating division websites and public communications.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent education, licensing, training, and experience.
• 3–5 years experience in related work to understand subordinate roles and problem solving.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Georgia driver's license for the vehicle operated.
• Possession of or ability to obtain State of Georgia certification as a Certified Landfill Operator within 12 months.

Responsabilidades

• Directs and schedules operations at the landfill, ensuring work is completed per procedures.
• Interviews, hires, trains, assigns, schedules, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines personnel.
• Inspects work for compliance with rules, safety guidelines, and regulations; conducts equipment and inventory checks.
• Approves purchases of supplies and equipment; identifies and procures new gear.
• Monitors environmental reports and maintains division equipment inventory.
• Assists in budgeting and long-term division goals, including contracts and specs.
• Ensures compliance with environmental regulations and state rules.
• Processes payroll for hourly and salaried staff; reviews tonnage and revenue reports.
• Oversees projects related to landfill operations and waste diversion efforts.
• Encourages waste reduction and updates public-facing sites and applications.
