Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station.

You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil, while following safety standards and maintaining equipment readiness. Responsibilities include inspections, minor maintenance, reporting, and cooperating with your supervisor to ensure efficient daily operations.

Qualifications

• Two years of related heavy equipment operation experience.
• OSHA-regulated site exposure is required (1 year).
• Customer service-oriented and professional demeanor.
• Strong time management to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Ability to follow company policies and safety standards.
• Pride in delivering quality work and meeting goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure safety.
• Operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loaders.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and keep equipment ready.
• Perform minor servicing and report more complex issues.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs.
• Adhere to safety policies and keep the shop clean after shifts.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
