Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. The role includes performing inspections, loading and spreading waste, and ensuring efficient, compliant operations.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of heavy equipment experience and working knowledge of OSHA-regulated sites, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of prior experience at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Commitment to following safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness.
• Perform minor equipment service and report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required documentation.
• Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized shop area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
