Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil efficiently. The role requires pre- and post-operation inspections, adherence to safety policies, and keeping the shop clean after each shift.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment before and after use per policy to ensure safe operation.
• Safely operate heavy equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste quality and equipment readiness; report issues to supervisor.
• Perform minor maintenance and document Equipment Condition Reports.
• Keep shop clean and properly stored at end of shift; follow safety policies.
• Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
