Job summary

AVCON, INC. is seeking a Land Development Engineer in Orlando, FL to support infrastructure planning and design for site development projects.

You will assist with stormwater design, pavement evaluations, utility systems, and commercial site layouts, while generating reports and assisting with entitlement and permit processes. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 2-5 years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, and knowledge of StormWise, EPANET, WaterCAD, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
2-5 years' experience.
Proficiency with AutoCAD.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Working knowledge of StormWise.
Working knowledge of EPANET, WaterCAD, StormCAD or similar software.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

Responsibilities

Assists in the various design elements to complete a project, component, or system with other team members with clear and specific objectives involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and/or equipment.
Assists in the preparation of complete project documentation to include plans, specifications, and engineer estimates including the collection, assembling, and organizing of project data.
Evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to project assignments; formulates and solves problems with guidance and direction.
Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work; works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects using time efficiently to stay within budget and deliver on time.
Assists in the preparation of project scopes, tasks, budgets, and schedules.
Assists with proposals including bid documents, project reports, studies, and other documentation.
Receives general direction on key objectives; receives guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex programs, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
Interacts and collaborates with clients, contractors, and other project team members.
Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments/project.
Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice.
