Job summary

AVCON, INC. in Orlando, FL is seeking a Designer to prepare construction drawings for land development projects, including site plans, grading, drainage, roadway alignments, and related details. You will assemble permit submittals and work with the project team to meet client standards.

The role requires strong CAD skills, five years’ civil drafting experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Offices are in Orlando with standard office hours and occasional site visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years of civil engineering drafting and design experience; airport, transportation or land development experience desired.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word; knowledge of LEED/sustainable design desired.

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering team with CAD knowledge.
• Develop CAD drawings for the assigned department.
• Create plans independently and under senior staff guidance.
• Prepare technical drawings and contract plans.
• Maintain project drawing files and keep documentation organized.
• Create maps, graphs, overlays, and details from specifications.
