Job summary

Bohler’s Nashville office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) to learn the complete site development process from concept to construction. You will support the design and permitting of diverse developments and gain real project exposure in a collaborative team environment.

You will work with engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools while developing technical skills and professional judgment applicable to

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and in teams.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred; training provided if not yet proficient).

Responsibilities

• Experience day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn stages of land development and site design processes.
• Gain hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept plans, grading, stormwater, utilities, and erosion control.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to drive projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see engineering in action.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute design/process improvements.
