Job summary

Bohler in Manhattan, NY seeks a Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027 to gain real project experience from concept to construction. Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• A self‑starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred; training provided if not yet proficient)
• Curiosity and motivation to learn within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
• Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem‑solving

Responsibilities

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design: Concept plans, Grading plans, Stormwater management plans, Utility system plans, Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements
