Job summary

Tier One Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer to support LAN and WiFi monitoring and issue resolution for a US Government client in Raleigh, NC. This hybrid Contract-to-Hire position will require on-site presence and occasional after-hours work.

The role focuses on troubleshooting LAN/WiFi connectivity, resolving ServiceNow tickets, documenting steps, and collaborating across Tier levels to ensure rapid incident resolution.

Qualifications

• Degree in an applicable field or 4 additional years of related experience.
• 3+ years of network experience and support.
• Expertise in LAN protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, Spanning Tree).
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills - Layer 1 and 2.
• Understanding of LAN security standards and methodologies.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Juniper Mist, Fortinet.
• Experience with ServiceNow or other ticketing systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• Must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve LAN and WiFi connectivity issues (switches, routers, cabling).
• Resolve ServiceNow tickets.
• Document troubleshooting steps for future reference.
• Assist Tier 1 support and provide Tier 2/3 escalation as needed.
• Collaborate with Tier 3 LAN Engineers for complex issues.
• Perform duties to support mission requirements and prioritize workload.
